Farm livin is the life for us

We spent Labor Day weekend in Iowa with friends. It was so much fun living life on the farm with them for a weekend. The boys had a great time playing and exploring. They enjoyed playing with the chickens and the kittens and of course playing Legos. They also helped us pick green beans (about 5 baskets full) and several baskets full of apples. Angie and I enjoyed a little experimenting in the kitchen with the freshly picked goodies. We pickled some beans, and made apple sauce and apple pie. Brent and Dan got some projects done in between helping us and the kids.
Everyone helped "pick" the apples. After picking a few, Dan climbed up in the trees and shook the apples down while the rest of us picked them up and tried to avoid being hit with them as they fell.
Eli LOVED the chickens and the kitties. This spring he decided he wanted chicks and hasn't stopped talking about it. I thought after seeing what happens to chicks when they grow up he might not have such a desire for them. Now he not only wants chickens but cats too.
Notice the 2 getting the ride are the big brothers. :)

It was really hard when the time came to head home. We really miss our friends and the more time we spend on the farm the more we love it. After the first day Jack said he wanted to move to the farm. Eli wants his animals and the only way that is happening is on a farm. We are starting to think that farm livin is the life for us. I guess we will have to see what God thinks about it.

  1. I totally agree! We want to live on a farm, too! Maybe someday!
