We had such a great time in Colorado! We left July 13th and stayed the first night with my Uncle Lee and Aunt Luanna in Ft. Collins. The boys got to go swimming, they fed us very well, the boys enjoyed playing backyard baseball with Uncle Lee and my cousin Weston. They also had a good time wrestling with Weston (who is over six foot and seemed to enjoy throwing them around).
This year, a few families from our church stayed in the cabins next to ours. So we shared an evening meal together and the kids enjoyed building forts, animal watching, picking flowers and just enjoying time together.
Here is a picture of all of us during a hike to Loch Lake. My parents were able to come too (they are not in the picture). It was a great day!
My parents work at the cabins 2 to 4 weeks each summer. I'm so glad they had a day off while we were their so they could enjoy the hike with us.
This is the boys creation. After a rain one night, they decided to try to water proof it. They not only worked hard creating it, they also played hard in and around it.
The last day we were there, we hiked to Emeraled Lake. The day before when hiking to Loch Lake, we walked through snow and threw a few snowballs, but this hike had more snow and the boys couldn't get enough of it. There's nothing like playing in snow when just a few days ago it was over 100 degrees at home.
Emeraled Lake.
On our way back to the cabin we saw this just strolling along the side of the road.
We also saw turkeys, deer, chipmunks, a few bunnies, Steller Jays and humming birds at the cabin.
We have so much fun every year. It was even more special to not only have my parents there, but also 2 wonderful families to share it with.
