Last year when Henry was in Mrs. Buchanan's second grade class, they had an invention convention. The idea was that each student would think of a problem they had and invent something that would fix the problem. Henry invented the Toilet Paper Brake. His problem was that sometimes, when he tried to tear off a couple squares of toilet paper, a whole bunch would unroll. His invention not only keeps too much from unrolling it also provides a nice edge for tearing. Henry and I had a good time building the working prototype, but if he decides to go into production he will need to fancy it up a bit. If anyone wants to get in on this He is looking for investors.

This year Jack is in Mrs. Buchanan's second grade class and for his invention he created the Jack Snatcher. Jack's problem was that when he needed to get something out from under his bed, he would often times hit his head or scrape his back. With his invention he can reach under the bed to snatch things from a safe distance. It's even equipped with a flashlight. Jack, my Dad and I had a good time working on this project.

Jack got into building so much that he broke out his mouse trap car kit that he had purchased at a garage sale this year. The kit was missing instructions and probably some parts, but after Jack, my dad, my uncle Wayne and I put our heads together we came up with a design that works.

This week Jack finally had his music program at school, after being postponed several times because of snow. It was a good time, the kids did a great job. Jack and his friends from his class and church; Garrison, Grace, Seth and Jaden.
