This last weekend we took a trip to see some friends in Iowa. It was a fast trip, but we fit a lot in.
We made it there late Friday afternoon, just in time to take over for an emergency run to the hospital for stitches. The boys were playing in the barn when Zeke came up to the house showing us the whole in his leg. Five stitches didn't seem to slow him down much.

Saturday morning, the boys got busy on a project they called the "Cat"apult.

Brent and Dan painting
The dad's spent a lot of the day painting the house. Notice the clever platform Dan is standing on. He used his new Bobcat to make the job easier.

Taking a break to make pizza for lunch
A few miscalculations along the way caused them to have to rethink and get creative.

The younger boys were often found hanging out with the animals.

Henry and Eli setting up a battle station
On Sunday morning (in there church clothes) the boys set up 2 battle stations and had a little war.

The catapult ended up launching bottles full of water and other items they found around the yard. For you cat lovers out there, be assured that no cat's ended up being launched. However, after we told them they wouldn't be launching cats, they wanted to try and launch the dog. We told them no, but I think it would have been fun to see them try to put a full size lab in that tiny box.
We always enjoy visiting these sweet friends of ours. It's always such an adventure and the time we get to spend with them is so very special.
