When we were added to the waiting list to be matched with our children, we were made aware of the waiting childrens list. This is a password protected site that our agency put together for children who do not match any of the families specifications. They may have an illness, disability, or are older than any of the families are inquiring about. We noticed a sibling set on the list, the girl was the same age as Jack and her brother was a year younger than Eli. The list plainly states that they do not adopt out of birth order, so we left it at that.
After the first of the year our agency mentioned in their weekly update to check the waiting children's list. We did and again saw the sibling pair still waiting. They had been waiting for a year. I started to pray about them and if we should pursue adopting them. I also asked Melanie to start praying. After a couple months we decided that there wasn't any reason not to move forward. In April, we sent in a form requesting more information about them. We were told that since the children would be out of birth order they would not let us adopt them. We continued to pray that we would know if we should push the issue or that God would provide a family. Three weeks later we had our answer. They were matched with a family. We were very excited for the children, but also sad that they wouldn't be coming home to us. It was also a confirmation that we are supposed to continue waiting.

So glad you posted an update! I've been meaning to call Melanie to find out the latest. Sure think of you guys a lot. TOTALLY can relate to the "unknowns." I used to just be able to mostly say from sentiment that it's all for a reason. . . now we know that from experience. Hang in there! His timing really is perfect, even though it feels FAR from that so many times. Praying for you guys.

p.s. I do hope that His perfect timing is SOON and not as long as ours took! :)
