Adoption Update 1 yr 5 mo

We finally got Melanie's FBI background check back this week. Can you blame them for scrutinizing her so closely? Who knows what she's been up to these last 18 months. It was a big answer to prayer. We got our updated home study Thursday and sent it Fedex overnight, to get the free visa and fingerprint renewal. They expire tomorrow, so it was a just in time delivery.

We also found out Thursday a family that had been waiting for 2 1/2 years received their referral for 6 month old boy and girl twins. We are praising God for their good news. This also means we moved up another spot on the waiting list, so it has been a pretty encouraging week. We know that every adoption is different, but using their timeline, it's encouraging to think that we could have a referral in about a year. It's also nice that we wouldn't have to update our home study or visa again. That's all the news I have for this time.

Brent.

  1. We are excited for you all and can't wait until your family of 7 or 8 can come and visit Iowa all together. We were just talking about you all yesterday and what we will do when you guys come again.
Boys and I are heading to Waterloo today to see "Spirit of Uganda" a musical group of orphans from Uganda perform native dance and music. We are excited and will spend some time on the way praying for you all and your family and orphans in Africa.
